Hot on the heels of our Poetry event in December, I am asking all you budding poets out there...and of course those who have already written some, to help me gather together as many poems as possible inspired by your experiences in Cumbria. It doesn't matter if you are resident Cumbrian or or a Cumbrian who is no longer resident, even if you just visited for the day....just send them in. You never know, we might even get them published.

Hi Margie, no time frame, I just thought I would put the idea out there first and see what happens. Hopefully these thing escalate when people tell each other.

Where do we send them? If a poem has already been published is it eligible?

You could either email the poems to dart@prismarts.org.uk or send them by post, then I can put them onto one of the website pages. If you put them on the forum, then they will be seen immediately. As for published poems, that is fine, but you may need to mention whether or not they are copywrited. I just thought it might be an interesting excercise to get people to contribute and we are looking into the possibility of publishing a disability arts magazine or newsletter to distribute throughout Cumbria...and maybe beyond!

New project by Barrow and District Age Concern is a return of their newsletter in an A5 format. Competition to find a name too with a small prize for the best one. They have a back page where poems can appear.

If the person sending is the same as the author, the author's copyright exists automatically and should be assumed I imagine people will be sending their own poetry! _________________ Sue in the English Lakes (\^/)
