We need an experienced and imaginative Arts Development Officer who will integrate creative activities throughout a range of services and organisations and deliver real community benefit and impact. You will be confident in working with a wide range of partners and experienced in work with a range of art forms and arts organisations.
You will be a team worker with excellent all round communication skills. You will also have substantial experience of project development, working directly with arts organisations and artists and developing project and commission briefs.

As part of our remit, Birmingham City Council Arts Team will be
investigating how such health needs within Birmingham’s constituencies can
be reflected within our priorities, and addressed particularly in an Arts
and Health context.
We are therefore seeking a consultant/organisation to undertake:
mapping and consultation of arts and health delivery across Birmingham
with emphasis on delivery at constituency level;
present recommendations which will form the basis of a strategy for
delivering Arts and Health within BCC to meet it's priorities;
present findings to key stakeholders at a dissemination event in June
2008;
Fee:A fee up to £9,000 is available to deliver this brief which we
anticipate will take place from March-June 2008.
Deadline:Tender submissions should arrive no later than Monday 18th
February 2008.

Apprentice Theatre Practitioner Opportunities
Theatre by the Lake, Cumbria
As Theatre by the Lake’s permanent team of specialist theatre practitioners we create theatre performances, projects and residencies. We develop new work with and for people in education, festivals, neighbourhoods and venues as well as members of the public. We commit to creating environments for participation, inspiration, exploration and celebration within all of our work.
We are seeking two Apprentice Theatre Practitioners to join us. We are looking for pro-active, committed and highly motivated individuals who are;
• Committed to developing work that places participants at the heart of decision making within their work
• Willing to take on increasing levels of responsibility within projects
• Have a positive, imaginative and dynamic approach to both performance and facilitation work
• Team players and support a partnership approach to work
• Seeking an opportunity for their own artistic and personal development
The apprenticeships will provide for the full time employment of two people of graduate level qualification or similar experience, at least one of whom will originate from West Cumbria. Each apprenticeship will be for a fixed term period of 15 months from July 2008 to September 2009.

The successful candidate will be expected to have excellent communication skills, management experience and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Section 4: Festival Themes and Aims
4.1. The Festival will explore three themes:
A] Reflect – on our past lives as Disabled people and how our lives have been by and large hidden within negative systems of control and dependency which has given us a ‘lost’ history.
B] Muse – think through our current world position as Disabled people and how our voices are emerging through the impact of the arts and digital media.
C] Imagine – a world without barriers where we as Disabled artists and people can participate fully and contribute and influence the artistic development of the 21st Century.
Festival Programme
DaDaFest International 2008 will programme work which should best reflect the International Disability and Deaf Arts Community, with if possible representation from each continent, a number of representatives from across Europe and representation of Deaf and Disability Arts from Britain and its regions.
