Studio Theatre Summer School 2015

Summer School & Carlisle Pageant

Prism Arts ran Studio Theatre Summer School for two weeks from 10th – 21st August, at our Paternoster Row workshop, in the build up to Carlisle Pageant which was on Saturday 22nd August.
We worked with 150 children from four local primary schools (Kingmoor Junior School, Newlaithes Junior School, Pennine Way School and St Bede’s School) to learn about the Jacobite rebellion of 1745 and to create work for the puppet parade.

The theme for this year’s pageant was the Jacobites. During our workshops, we made puppets and costumes inspired by the period.

‘I loved it!’ – summer school participant

School information packs about the Jacobite rebellion can be downloaded here: JACOBITE School Handouts

You can see some photos from the parade here:

‘It was brilliant, I really enjoyed it. If someone had told me last year that I’d be in this year’s parade, I wouldn’t have believed them. It was really great.’ – parent
