Exhibited at Theatre by the Lake, Keswick, Saturday 24th October – Monday 23rd November 2015

and The RSPB: Geltsdale

Stand Long & Grow Tall is an exhibition by members of our Creative Arts and Conversation group, for older people, stroke survivors and people experiencing memory loss.

‘A great idea, your artists are engaged in sharing their skills in a supportive circle of talk and friendship. Come again to Keswick’ – Visitor, Theatre by the Lake

Our workshops consist of conversation, creativity, friendship and mutual support, and are fuelled by coffee, tea and biscuits. Skills, interests and experiments are shared and encouraged. We have a very good time, use a wide range of materials and techniques (whatever takes our fancy, really) and often surprise ourselves.

‘Lovely to see my friend Diana Greenwoods paintings here (again). She was in the Keswick group – 91 and still painting brilliantly.’ – Visitor, Theatre by the Lake

The group has also produced 3D work, which forms part of an exhibition entitled The Seven Stories at Carlisle Library, which runs from Friday 20th November 2015 – 27th April 2016.

‘Love the flowers by Kath Nelson and the elephants with tree also (look forward to seeing more in Carlisle Library)’ – Visitor, Theatre by the Lake

The Creative Arts and Conversation sessions are funded by the Northern Rock Foundation and the Pixel Fund.

The original Stand Long & Grow Tall exhibition took place at our studio space in the centre of Carlisle, during Dementia Awareness Week 2015:
