Cumbria Wildlife Trust and Eycott Hill

2014-19

Project Partner: Cumbria Wildlife Trust

Artform: Theatre, Visual Arts

Funders:  National Lottery Heritage Fund

Participants: Children and young adults, adults with learning disabilities and autism and older people.

Prism Arts teamed up with Cumbria Wildlife Trust to deliver art workshops with school groups, care homes, day centres and our own programmes over a period of 5 years. The project was based on Eycott Hill Nature Reserve, near Penrith culminating in a large-scale on-site performance. Groups performed short productions inspired by the reserve and their work (including puppets and banners) was displayed along the promenade route.

“Participants were given free rein to respond to the nature reserve in their own way and showed us Eycott Hill as we’d never seen it before!”

Early in the project we worked with the Eddington Centre media Group to make an animation inspired by Eycott Hill which can be seen below along with the behind the scenes video.
