Studio Theatre Summer School 2014

Carlisle Pageant 2014

We ran our inaugural Studio Theatre Summer School for two weeks at the start of August 2014.

Workshops ran in our studio spaces on Paternoster Row in the Centre of Carlisle, in the build-up to Carlisle Pageant. Open to adults and young people (age 14 upwards) with a learning disability, the workshops engaged participants in large scale puppet making, costume making, the use of Javanese percussion instruments and learning about Tudor dancing.

On Saturday 16th August 2014, Summer School participants took part in Carlisle Pageant, from the Civic Centre up to the Market Cross, with stops along the way for performances of their quadrille and music from the gamelan (Javenese percussion instruments).

The parade was seen by over 3000 people, and was a great success!
