Artforms: Visual Arts, predominantly drawing and textiles. 

At Prism Arts Helen is the Lead Visual Artist, she organises and runs our Studio Arts programme. She also works on our other visual arts and emerging artists projects.
Helen loves working with Prism Arts because it allows her to work with an exciting and diverse community of artists and to use her skills to help other people find their own inner artist. She believes art can make a profound and lasting difference to people and their lives, that it’s an essential part of humanity.

Artist Statement:

Helen is a Cumbria based artist predominantly working with drawing and textiles but she enjoys experimenting with a wide range of media.

Helen is fascinated by the natural world and our connection to it. She is drawn to the human desire to transcend. These things are recurring themes in her work.

Alongside her work at Prism Arts, Helen organises and runs a wide range of arts and crafts projects with a variety of people across a range of settings including schools, day centres and community centres.


BA(Hons) Embroidery from the Manchester Metropolitan University, Group Leader at The Heathlands Project, Helen has worked with a wide variety of groups and organisations including Carlisle Mencap, Eden Mencap Society, BBC Blast and Rockcliffe Primary School.
