Degree in Contemporary Applied Arts; teaching evening and non-vocational courses in multiple venues; working with people with dementia and after stroke.

Approach to the work / professional ethos

Delivering a person-centred experience where each individual has a say in what they do and how they do it as far as is possible. Making all workshops hands-on and focused on the individual.

Jan currently runs Creative Arts and Conversations.

Project Example 1

Felt making and printmaking with people with dementia. Delivered in Kendal on behalf of the Alzheimer’s Society. Making pictures, banners and bunting. Individual pieces and a group piece.

Project Example 2

Felt making with stroke survivors, delivered on behalf of the Stroke Association in Carlisle. All participants made work of their own choosing, including pictures, flowers, jewellery and books.
