Our Work / Visual Arts / Golden Years

This project gave the residents of Mill House the opportunity to work together creating fabric banners to display in their home.

They began the project by creating a timeline of political, social and local events over the life the last 50 years. They shared their own memories and local events while discussing these themes.

These discussions inspired the creation of three 5 foot banners, each with their own theme; Politics, The Environment and Modern Life.

Everyone worked together to research ideas, design, print, paint and stitch parts for the banners.  All the printed cloth came from their own handmade stamps and the backgrounds were painted in fabric paint.
