This August we worked with a group of Cumbrian Artists to run a programme of workshops and create an exhibition at Kurt Schwitters’ Merz Barn in Ambleside.
Prism Arts was in residence at the Merz Barn in Langdale with a group of 15 Cumbrian artists over August 2019.
The artists who joined the residency included Alex Jakob-Whitworth, Amanda Mudge, Ali McCaw, Celia Burbush, David Napthine, Helen Walsh, Jac Addison, John Lake, Katarina Prior, Katie Lock, Marc McKiernan, Mark Gibbs, Rosie Galloway-Smith, Vicki Maxfield, Vicky Jones and members of the Prism Arts Studio Arts programme.
The exhibition included a myriad of different artforms across sculpture, drawing, jewellery, painting, which was displayed in the buildings and the surrounding woodlands.
During the residency artists also ran workshops for the public to get creative.
This is the first time that Prism Arts has run a project like this, it is a great opportunity for our emerging artists, staff artists and bank artists to create work together.
