WE ARE HERE! is the Creative People and Places programme for Copeland and Allerdale, funded by Arts Council England.
WE ARE HERE! will promote creative opportunities for all in West Cumbria. It’s all about Making, Doing, Imagining, Creating, Watching, Enjoying, Reflecting, Learning, Fun, Excellence, and Getting involved. Celebrating our place, our people, our past and future and using different ways to express what we care about and do.
ACTion with Communities in Cumbria is the lead organisation working with a consortium of partners in West Cumbria which include:
- Allerdale District Council
- Copeland District Council
- Florence Arts Centre
- Prism Arts
- Theatre by the Lake
- Rosehill
- Lakes College
- University of Central Lancashire
- Sellafield Ltd
About Creative People and Places
Creative People and Places is an Arts Council England programme that supports amazing activities like singing, street art, drawing, dancing and many other experiences in your hometown, village, library, beach, or kitchen!
We will need your help, and your friends, neighbours and groups and local businesses to talk to us and to each other, to shape the types of activity delivered and develop a longer-term creative programme.
The programme will build on the already great work done in West Cumbria, making sure that access to making, watching and being creative is something that everyone can be a part of.
It is a project which will run for 3 years from April 2022, and over the next 6 months, we will be collecting people’s thoughts, and offering make-and-do activities such as tasters, tea and more.
